SSUSA brings its programs to kids 6-18 years old, as well as special needs populations including homeless families, adults and people in recovery. We focus our efforts on the 33% of youth who are living below the poverty line and have graduation rates between 55-65%. In our nearly 10 years of existence we have introduced our program and positively impacted the lives of over 15,000 youth and adults, and have grown to encompass 14 cities throughout the USA. SSUSA is also the official partner of the Homeless World Cup and the Street Child World Cup, which provides opportunities for valuable international experiences for our program participants.

Sacramento City Unified School District is one of the oldest K-12 districts in the western United States (established in 1854). SCUSD serves 43,175 students on 75 campuses spanning 76 square miles.
SCUSD is home to a 2013 California Distinguished School (West Campus High School), the only public Waldorf-inspired high school in the nation (George Washington Carver) and the only Hmong language immersion program in the state (Susan B. Anthony Elementary School).
Alumni from SCUSD’s schools include U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy, California Supreme Court Chief Justice Tani Cantil-Sakauye, nationally renowned political scholar Dr. Cornel West and author Joan Didion.
