Organization Description

The mission of Washington Unified School District, THE GATEWAY TO EXTRAORDINARY POSSIBILITIES, is to challenge and support each student to develop effective critical thinking, problem solving, and communication skills as a life-long learner acting in an ethical manner to serve a broader community through a community of learners.

Program Information

This is a school social work placement in a racially and economically diverse community.  Interns may be placed at a K-8 or high school.  Duties will include individual and group counseling, crisis intervention support, collaboration with school staff and colleagues, home visits, and support of foster and homeless youth. Interns will work under the direction of a school social worker, provided with individual and group supervision, and will be a part of the district Outreach Team. We provide a high level of support and have high expectations for our interns since this is a fast-paced environment.

Personal vehicle is required.
