Organization Description

Our mission is to help children become lifelong readers by empowering communities to provide individualized instruction with measurable results. Using a structured curriculum to provide one-on-one tutoring, Reading Partners has helped more than 12,000 students become strong, confident readers. Once enrolled, students receive one-on-one tutoring twice a week in 45-minute sessions.

Program Information

Reading Partners works in schools with high percentages of children from low-income families. Working with school leaders, Reading Partners transforms an empty classroom into a reading center, complete with a library and teaching tools managed by a full-time staff member. Reading Partners collaborates with teachers to identify students reading 6 months to 2.5 years behind grade level, and provides them with individualized literacy instruction.
