Program Information

This is an ideal internship site for students who are motivated to work with teenagers. They will gain valuable training hours working with students in a one on one setting. Interns will have the opportunity to practice the various phases of a therapeutic relationship, learning how to join with a client in a therapeutic alliance and also how to recognize when a therapeutic intervention has reached its maximum benefit and how to terminate therapy when it is no longer needed. Interns will have the opportunity to work with a licensed clinical Social Worker in group supervision to discuss various therapy techniques and modalities and other issues as they arise throughout the school year, in conjunction with their school coursework and corresponding field placement class via their graduate school. Interns can work as little as three hours per week up to fourteen hours per week. We are looking to keep a consistent schedule throughout the entirety of the school year. Candidates will need to be fingerprinted through Napa Valley Unified School District Livescan system. Interns will need to have a strong interest in working with high school aged teens, this position would be ideal for students who are looking to go into school Social Work or teen related programs in the community.
