Program Information

Students will assist case managers and program coordinators with identifying needs of the population. Students will be instrumental in working with individuals, families by connecting them to resources them in their community. The students will be immersed in a low-income area of Sacramento, and with the case management team they will learn how the environment plays a role in clients access to quality resources. Students will test their ability to have innovative ideas in serving marginalized population. Students will be trained on how to do case management which includes meeting w/clients, case notes, and acquiring necessary documentation to complete a case-file ready for audit by Sacramento Steps Forward/HUD guidelines. Students will be offered other learning experiences, such as, exploring arenas community partnerships (mezzo) and the possibility of working with acquiring new grants. Student will also learn how we manager our existing grant. Students will also be encouraged to create and implement their own ideas on how to best serve our population.

Students will can only work on site between the hours of 6:30AM-5:00PM. If CSUS allows at-home projects can be approved for intern hours in addition to on-site hours. Students can be on-site M-F.
