Capitol Advisors Group

An intern would work directly with our team of Legislative Advocates on legislative measures moving
through the California State Legislature relating almost exclusively to T-K through Community Colleges. Interns would attend legislative policy and budget hearings, attend meetings with state legislators and staff, draft letters of support and opposition and testify in Senate and Assembly Education Committee hearings. We also have interns work on client specific tasks based on client needs which may be planning a lobby day in Sacramento, compiling a target list of state legislators to meet with or drafting talking points or one page "leave behinds" for meetings. January-July there will be opportunities for interns to learn first-hand about how California funds public education under Prop 98 and help us build CAG's Budget Perspectives Workshops that take place in January, May and July which our team presents at 29 County Offices of Education for county and district Superintendents, School Business Officials and staff.
