Organization Description

The River District is a non-profit community organization that manages and promotes programs to strengthen the economic and cultural well-being of the area. In 1999, private and public property owners established the 830-acre Property and Business Improvement District (PBID), named Capitol Station District after a proposed multi-modal transit station. As the plans for that station changed and a new light rail station was built at Township 9 on Richards Blvd. at N. 7th, the area became known as the River District, being located at the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers.
