Children's Programming VolunteerAt — First Christian Church Oceanside (Oceanside Sanctuary Church)
Volunteers have the opportunity to serve in a rotating schedule of volunteers and teachers to assist with Sunday morning kids programming and activities (9:30am-11:30am). This may include: Cheerfully interacting with and leading children through games, stories, crafts, activities, and play; Distributing snacks to kids; Escorting children to the bathroom or to main sanctuary; Maintaining a safe environment; Assisting with checking children in and out of classrooms. Volunteers may also assist during the week with kids programming lesson and activity preparation, such as preparing and setting up crafts and activity materials. There is also an opportunity to assist with middle school-age gatherings on Sunday mornings or Friday evenings.
By the end of this opportunity, students will have learned how to interact with children in a classroom environment through leading stories, games, crafts, etc. Students who choose to participate in curriculum preparation and development will also have learned how to connect faith and social justice with developmentally appropriate activities for children ages 0-12.
Students will be trained to work with our kids classes (ages 0-12) including safety regarding working with minors. Students will be trained to use our organization's CRM system which is used to check our kids in and out of classes.
