One Safe Place, The North County Family Justice Center

Organization Description

One Safe Place is a Family Justice Center that provides wrap around services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, elder abuse, child abuse, hate crimes and gang violence. We help with restraining orders, shelter, food, clothing, therapy, forensic examinations, benefits eligibility assistance, job readiness workshops, and other services to help victims emerge from an abusive situation and transition to survivor and then thriver.

Health & Safety

One Safe Place offers a Child Waiting area for parents receiving services at our center. We provide child care to all mobile children and teens. Students may be asked to assist in the Child Care room with activities or story reading but will never be alone with a child.

One Safe Place is open until 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. We often have community events in the evenings that we may ask students to assist with. Students will be supervised at all times.

We serve victims of abuse. Many come to us in their moments of crisis. Students may serve as the welcome ambassador to offer a cup of coffee or snack and someone to comfort. Students may hear of difficult abuse so must be able to handle that however a student will never be alone with a victim. No photographs of any victims are ever allowed at our center.
