The Escondido Creek Conservancy

Organization Description

The Escondido Creek Conservancy (ECC) is a 30 year old land trust (www.escondidocreek.org) focused on the Escondido Creek watershed. Our mission is to preserve and restore the watershed. We currently manage 3000 acres and are in contract to preserve an additional 300 acres. We have an active education program serving over 800 school children per year and several conservation programs in need of volunteers!

Health & Safety

The Conservancy hosts field trips for third graders in Escondido. The intern may be assisting during such field trips where the students shift between five field stations to learn more about the Escondido Creek.

The majority of the time the student will be out in the Preserves. There is a high chance the student will encounter bees and wasps, rattle snakes, poison oak, and other wild animals and plants.
