Organization Description

We are a grower-owned and operated organization with over 7,600 acres of pears and cherries grown in California and Oregon.

Responsible for 50% of California’s pear volume alone, we are the state’s undisputed pear leader. We are also a Top-5 shipper in the California cherry industry.

Program Information

Interns will be exposed to and work in different departments within the company to gain a broad understanding a professional work environment and develop appropriateskill set needed for success in a typical agricultural business. Therefore, the interns will participate in some or all of the following activities:

Quality Control: Monitoring the overall quality of the fruit being packed to the standards held by the USDA and Rivermaid Trading Company.

Marketing/ Sales: This role allows the intern to monitor the pack plan alllowing the student to enage with marketing and sales teams on a regular basis.

Leadership and Management: Learning, helping and shadowing company leadership and management in making critical decisions. This allows an intern to become familiar with proper leadership and management skills in a typical agricultural business environment.
