Sierra Research Laboratories, Inc. conducts pesticides efficacy research and product development on a contract basis for clients throughout the United States and Internationally. Our primary service is the evaluation of new chemistry and products to be used the pest control, vector and animal health care industries focusing on Urban and Veterinary Entomology. Program Information

Research Internship

  • Education and Skill Requirements:
    • Seeking students interested in Entomology, Parasitology, Biology, Zoology, or other related biological or agricultural sciences wanting "real life" experience in a research environment. This internship is designed to expand and enhance the classroom experience with an emphasis on training and education. Applicatants must have a very postive attitude, a good work ethic, and a willingness to learn and can follow detailed written and verbal instructions. Willingness to work with people, pesticides, insects, arachnids, and host animals they are associated with is a must.
  • General Job Duties:
    • Ensure that the laboratory and equipment are clean and in proper working condition ready to conduct research. Assist with the maintenance of arthropod colonies within the laboratory and field collectionof new colonies. To assist the Scientists in conducting laboratory and field studies in the areas of parasitology, urban and veterinarry entomology (companion animals and livestock).
