Organization Description

The Child Abuse Prevention Council’s mission is “to eliminate child abuse and neglect throughout San Joaquin County through prevention, intervention and education". Internship opportunities are available. These opportunities include unpaid internships to fulfill school requirements for Bachelor’s, 1st year and 2nd year candidates enrolled in, BSW, MSW and MFT program. Internship placements are available to provide supervised mental health services throughout the CAPC in various departments and programs. Interns have a variety of options for placement opportunities ranging from case management opportunities with Safety Net, Supervised Visits and Parent Cafe to more advanced clinical work with children, youth and families from 0-18 years old in our BMS, TAY and Outpatient programs. Personal vehicle is required.

Program Information

In a variety of programs, students have the opportunity to provide assessment, case management, child and family supportive services, documentation, training, parent coaching and support.

CAPC has various different programs that interns can be placed including case management, Transitional Aged Youth, Parent Cafe, and Classroom Consultant.
