Virtual Marketing Assistant Intern

Splash is passionate about being the region’s resource for environmental outreach and education, and is dedicated to creating the next generation of nature stewards. We work to ensure that every child understands the impact they have on the environment, through the choices made at home and in their community.

Program Information

Sacramento Splash is seeking a Marketing Assistant to communicate with our subscribers and followers on numerous online platforms. The student will help curate and create content for the organization’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, LinkedIn. Do you love seeing young students outside learning in nature?

If so this is the place for you, you will be working on:

 

· Work directly with CEO and Director team to help curate content about events and programs running in our organization

· Collaborate on creating flyers, media, and social posts for our platforms

· Assist in monitoring and maintaining social media presence across all channels including but not limited to posting, creating graphics and content creation

· Assist in planning events and creating outreach materials for events to draw more guests.

o Assisting with setting up online registration platforms

o Answering direct messages and ensuring the right responses are given or direct to the proper staff to answer the questions

o Monitoring registration numbers on events and post event follow up

o Preparing graphics for use on newsletters and for fundraising campaigns

· Clerical work

o Helping with keeping our volunteer calendar up to date

o Helping work through and log volunteer hours completed by our campers

o Helping work with parents of campers to answer questions

This position requires:

· The ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

· The ability to exercise sound judgment.

· The communication skills to interact well with all levels of staff and provide superior customer service including establishing and adhering to boundaries with followers and donors.

· A thorough knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation, strong writing, editing and proofreading skills.

· An organized and detail-oriented approach to work and the ability to quickly establish a system for efficiently and accurately completing assigned tasks.

· A professional presentation, decorum and attention to detail which are of paramount importance due to the high visibility of projects within the department.

· A candidate who is dependable, reliable and punctual and has a good work ethic.

· Work will be given with a quick turn around expected for postings, while working to build a strategic calendar of detailed content for the future.

· Graduate and upper division students in public administration or communications related fields and those with event, web, and social media experience.

 

Health & Safety

Start Date: Position open until filled, requires 3- to 6-month commitment.

Hours: 2-10 hours/week of virtual/remote work

Compensation: This is a paid internship. Pay will be hourly at $18/hour.
