Organization Description

Our mission is to reduce stigma, increase mental health awareness and support, and promote recovery through education, outreach, and advocacy for individuals, families, and communities impacted by mental illness in English, Spanish and Hmong. We focus on providing family support groups and education programs as well as recovery support groups and educational programs for individuals with a mental health condition in English and Spanish. We offer ethnic specific programs and support NAMI on Campus Clubs at high schools and colleges. NAMI also provides a variety of community programs.

Program Information

Attend a variety of meetings, coalitions and collaboratives in Merced County to represent NAMI as part of professional networking. Work with different ethnic populations and organizations on social issues Make appropriate referrals to organizations providing behavioral health treatment, providing food or housing services. Complete family assessments in NAMI's first episode psychosis program. Help families navigate different systems to assist their family member to receive behavioral health services and other needed services. Assist with presentations for families about first episode psychosis Assist with recovery support groups Assist with the support provided to NAMI on Campus Clubs at high schools, Merced College and UC Merced. Provide community presentations on a variety of behavioral health topics
