Estimating InternshipAt — Big-D Construction
This job posting is for those who are interested in an internship with Big-D Construction. This position is an entry level role which is part of our college internship program and is limited to only to those attending a college, pursuing a Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or similar degree. Junior and Senior level individuals will be considered first, but all years are encouraged to apply. The Estimating Intern will assist in producing detailed estimates from preliminary design through the construction phase. Estimators will evaluate drawings and bid specifications to determine project requirements and estimate costs to achieve profitability goals for the company. The work may vary depending on the phase in which the project the intern has been assigned to is in. Qualifications: Pursuing a 4-year college degree within Construction Management or related degree Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 Formal engineering, architectural training, or equivalent construction experience is highly desirable Must have good interpersonal and teamwork skills and a desire to learn Ability to communicate well both verbally and in writing Proficient with computer applications as required to perform responsibilities A basic understanding scheduling programs preferred

Online training through our Big-D University (Bridge), along with in-person and on the job training.
Each new hire attend a new hire orientation that covers safety. If the person has the opportunity to visit a jobsite, we will provide the proper PPE. For the most part, this position is located in an office environment.
