Family Resource Center InternAt — Mission Hospital- Family Resource Center (FRC)

Opportunity Summary 

The Intern would support with counseling intake screenings, provide psychoeducational classes for children, shadow Office Coordinator and Site Supervisor, attend Case Management Team meetings as available, and support with Family Resource Center activities, such as food distributions.

Tasks:

\n

The tasks will be to facilitate psychoeducational groups for children, complete intake screenings, support with Family Resource Center activities, such as food distributions, attend staff meetings, shadow different staff members.

\n

Training:

\n

The trainings the student will receive orientation to Mission Hospital and the Family Resource Centers. Weekly scheduled supervision as indicated by the university, job shadowing, workshops and trainings as they arise, CPS and APS on-line trainings.

\n

Learning Outcome:

\n

By the end of the academic internship, the student will know how Family Resource Centers function, and understand the importance of person in environment. The student will know resource available for the needs of the community. The Intern will understand how to complete intake screenings and make referrals to appropriate resources for clients. The student would attend staff meetings and learn how these are facilitated.
