Opportunity Summary 

The student will work closely with the BCBA to implement ABA services to individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. 

The student will:
1. Lead 1:1 session with clients under the supervision of the BCBA
2. Attend weekly training meetings on concepts related to ABA
3. Implement various strategies taught during the weekly meetings with clients under the supervision of the BCBA
4. Accurately run goals as written and accurately record data

Training:

The student will receive an initial general employer orientation, followed by observing various shadow session. The student will also receive various weekly scheduled 1:1 meetings with the supervisor outside of training sessions to discuss various topics of ABA and discuss any strategies needed to overcome concerns.

Learning Outcomes:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to:
1. Teach communication skills, social skills, self-help skills through applies behavioral analysis principles under the supervision of the BCBA
2. Accurately and reliably record treatment data on the clients skill acquistion and behavior reduction goals
3. Maintained confidentiality of all clients as well as a professional conduct
4. Collaborate with team members and maintain ongoing communiction
5. Engage the clients in various preferred activities
6. Explain what Autism is and how it presents itself
