Opportunity Summary 

· Performing ABA intervention in-home 1:1, parent training and consultation

· Develops and maintains a professional relationship and rapport with families, client, staff, and professionals
· Records and analyzes data/session notes from daily sessions
· Flexibility: is open and accepting to changes in cases and program delivery
· Responsible for maintaining communication between client families and supervisor
· Demonstrates leadership skills by leading by example
· Commutes safely between cases around the Orange County region

Tasks:

Provide 1:1 Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy to children with developmental disabilities in home, school, and community settings.
Implement individualized treatment plans and behavior intervention strategies designed by a BCBA.
Record accurate, real-time session data using company software.
Work collaboratively with parents/caregivers and provide appropriate feedback on session activities.
Develop and maintain a professional and positive relationship with families, clients, staff, and other professionals.
Communicate routinely with the supervising BCBA regarding client progress, challenges, and program updates.

Training:

Students will receive structured training to support their learning and professional development. This includes a new hire orientation covering company policies, ethics, and ABA fundamentals, as well as shadowing and observation sessions with experienced staff. Ongoing clinical training is provided by a clinical supervisor, along with weekly one-on-one supervision meetings for feedback and skill development. Students will also complete Safety-Care training to ensure competency in safe behavior intervention techniques. This combination of hands-on experience, mentorship, and regular feedback supports the application of academic knowledge in a clinical setting.

Learning Outcome:

By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to implement evidence-based Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) interventions with fidelity in 1:1 in-home settings under supervision.
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to collect, record, and analyze behavioral data to inform treatment decisions and track client progress.
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to demonstrate effective professional communication with clients, families, and supervisors, including providing parent guidance and participating in team collaboration.
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to adapt to changes in treatment plans, client needs, and service delivery while maintaining professionalism and ethical standards.
By the end of the academic internship, the student will be able to apply foundational ABA principles (e.g., reinforcement, prompting, behavior reduction strategies) to support skill acquisition and behavior change.
