Program Information

The purpose of the WIC program is to prevent health problems and to improve the health of program participants during critical times of growth and development. WIC has a commitment to help participants improve their health status through better nutrition.

WIC is a temporary assistance program which provides nutrition education and supplemental foods only for a long as they are needed. When a participant's nutrition problem has improved, the the WIC Program has accomplished its purpose and WIC services may no longer be necessary
