So we are posting anew!* The Western Nudist Research Library is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation. Founded in 2007, the Library is a centralized location for collecting, preserving, and displaying materials related to the origin and development of the American social nudist movement.??Social nudism has been defined as a way of life in harmony with nature and characterized by the practice of communal nudity with the intention of encouraging self-respect, respect for others and for the environment (XIV Congress of the??International Naturist Federation, Agde,??France, 1974). The WNRL is a nonprofit organization licensed by the State of California and is considered a private library. It is housed on the grounds of Glen Eden Sun Club in Corona, where it is governed by a Board of Directors and its work is carried out by volunteers. The Library is recognized by the American Association for Nude Recreation, which has more than 250 member clubs and more than 200,000 individual members in the United States. The Library is one of several regional research libraries that work together to preserve and archive documents related to the history of the movement. The WNRL has an extensive traditional and digital media collection of books, journal articles, magazine and trade publications, business documents, films, still photos and other artifacts reflecting the history and development of social nudism in America over more than a century.
