Program Information ABOUT THE COMPANY Probolsky Research specializes in opinion research on public policy, with government, corporate and political practice areas. Our clients include government agencies, businesses, associations, political action committees, media organizations, political parties and candidates. Detailed information about the firm can be found at www.probolskyresearch.com. ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking skilled, hardworking students who would be a good fit with Probolsky Research. A passion for public policy would be a plus. We demand high quality work but offer a relaxed, business-casual environment. Those selected will have the opportunity to learn the business side of government, politics, public affairs and public relations, and build relationships within the field. Interns can meet elected and appointed officials, business and government leaders and learn how the political and government systems work at the local, state and national levels. These positions are paid a modest monthly stipend. REQUIREMENTS ??? Dedicate a minimum of sixteen (16) hours per week to Probolsky Research (flexible scheduling) ??? Maintain your own (offsite) computer with Internet and e-mail access ??? Maintain your own mobile phone ??? Maintain your own automobile or other means of transportation ??? May be required to work some evenings and/or weekends ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Interns will have the opportunity to work on various projects, a sampling of which is below: ??? Monitor media sources such as newspapers, blogs, radio, television ??? Monitor governmental agendas ??? Create, update and maintain databases of media, elected officials, government agencies and other key influential individuals and groups ??? Attend public hearings such as city council, special district and county board of supervisors meetings ??? Coordinate events ??? Write news releases, letters, reports, speeches, talking points and position papers ??? Attend/staff political events ??? Answer office phones ??? Editing ???
