Program Information The Senior Mental Health (SMH) Unit is (12) bed locked psychiatric unit with the capacity to admit voluntary and involuntary patients. SMH provides patient care on a 24 hour per day basis to patient's 55 years of age and older with a primary DSM -IV psychiatric diagnosis. Primary goal is to provide quality psychiatric and medical care to the senior population using a multidisciplinary treatment approach and to assist patients to achieve their optimal level of functioning and anticipate they are able to return to their previous level of care.
