Program Information We are a research team at the Keck School of Medicine of USC investigating how differences in genes may determine why some people are more likely to develop fat in their liver and how the level contributes to the risk for type 2 diabetes. This research aims to ultimately inform better ways to prevent and treat people with diabetes and different types of fatty liver disease. This is a collaborative study between Kaiser Permanente Southern California (KPSC) and the University of Southern California (USC), sponsored by the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK).
