The Joint BioEnergy Institute (JBEI) is a research program at Lawrence Berkeley National laboratory, a US National Laboratory funded by the Department of Energy to perform scientific research related to energy technologies. JBEI is research program studying how make sustainable replacements for petroleum products through synthetic biology.
