Program Information The mission of Human Works Foundation is to provide temporary and long-term workforce development support to the veteran, transitional, formerly incarcerated, and justice-involved communities across greater Orange and Los Angeles counties. HWF provides access to both practical and holistic arrays of services including customer service and sales training through the National Retail Federation Foundation, networking with community partners for direct employment, linkage to re-entry services, and other services that promote independence and self-sufficiency. Started in 2015, HWF has grown to be one of the most comprehensive community outreach, training, and development re-entry organizations, advocating relentlessly for those enduring barriers to employment. Our credo: Obstacles to Opportunities, has sustained our over 6-year engagement with our community! The organization is staffed by five (5) employees and supported by our local law enforcement and community partners. Since its founding as an independent non-profit, HWF has served over 10,000 including helping over 2,500 individuals find meaningful employment. HWF is organized as a non-profit in the State of California and is recognized as a 501(c)(3). HWF recognized the need for integrated and closely coordinated services for this population. We have active partnerships with more than ten (10) civic agencies and human service organizations which provide critical services like mental/behavioral health counseling; re-entry services/transitional care; case management, and post-release enforcement/care. \r\n\r\nOur programs and services have been created to reflect a self-sufficiency model. Under this model, HWF first addresses Maslow\u2019s Hierarchy of Needs for the ultimate self-sufficiency: housing and food, which is directly provided for by the workforce development training we provide. In collaboration with our array of community partnerships, we seek to support justice-involved, underemployed, and transitional individuals by providing a whole-human based approach to address those obstacles of self-sufficiency. \r\n\r\n
