Opportunity Summary 

HipHopforChange Inc. is a BIPOC-led nonprofit organization based in Oakland, California. As an organization, we address the injustices of Hip Hop culture's misrepresentation through education and community building. Our core values stand with diversity, equity, and inclusion; we advocate for all marginalized communities, including POC, LGBTQAI, Indigenous/Tribes, Immigrants, differently-abled bodies, poverty-stricken, systems impacted, and others affected by colonialism. Hip Hop for Change is looking hire interns to join our Grants and Development Department. Our Development Department is responsible for creating and maintaining fundraising strategies, relationship-building, administrative services and internal correspondence for our organization. Interns will be involved in the full process of fundraising through technical writing, creating grant proposals, and establishing philanthropic partnerships for upcoming and ongoing programs. This internship will allow students to develop practical professional business skills and learn about the nonprofit sector in an empowering and supportive social justice-driven environment.

Opportunity Training 

First week will consist of general orientation and thorough introduction to required work. Intern will work closely with HH4C's Development Department and our organization's Executive Director. The HH4C intern will be trained to seek and secure funds for operational support that will create opportunities for departmental growth. Students will receive guidance and supervision in outreach and campaigning efforts.
