Program Sites

The County of Humboldt's Learning Site Agreement (LSA) with Cal Poly Humboldt covers a variety of programs under the various branches of the County's offices and services. Individual sites will need Learning Site Self Assessments (SSA) to be valid placements for Academic Internships and Service Learning.

This site is only available to social work students who have secured both employer and Social Work Field Director approval for placement. 

The Human Resources Office administers an award winning vibrant, made-to-order internship program designed to provide learning and experience opportunities for individuals in the community, high school and college students, and members of the military community.  We solicit departmental needs and create unique internship opportunities covering a wide range of fields and interests. We promote our internship opportunities to a broad swath of the community. In addition, we encourage citizens to reach out to us to inform us of their areas of interest, and we attempt to match them to an internship opportunity.  We strive to reach and teach!  We attempt to ignite interest in public sector careers by providing meaningful internship experiences.

Cuddeback School is located in Northern California just off Highway 36 along the Van Duzen River valley and amongst the towering Humboldt redwoods. We serve students in grades Kindergarten through 8th and provide a wide variety of educational programs and experiences geared toward developing “the whole child”, academically, physically and emotionally.

Cuddeback School has an experienced and dedicated instructional staff committed to student success. We have strong community support for our students and school programs. Because of the outstanding staff and community support, Cuddeback has created an educational environment in which students feel safe, cared for and nurtured.

In an effort to help ALL students achieve, we offer an excellent Before & After School Tutoring Program, Title I services, Special Education services, Gifted and Talented Education program, a (K-3) Primary Intervention program, Discovery program (4-8), Healthy Start, on-site counseling and Homework Club. We also offer sports programs including: Volleyball, Softball, Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity and Junior Varsity Basketball, Cross Country and Track.
