Organization Description

Students are approved to serve for Service Learning and Academic Internship course credit at the following sites under Sanctuary Forest:

  • Main Office: 315 Shelter Cove Rd, Suite 4, Whitethorn, CA 95589
  • North Fork and South Fork of Lost River: Located in Mendocino County, approximately 5.6 miles (mi) southeast of the intersection of Briceland Thorn Road and Shelter Cove Road, (referred to as Thorn Junction) and 0.8 mi south of the Humboldt/Mendocino county line. APNs: 051-180-001, 051-160-002 & 051-160-003
  • Baker Creek: Located in Humboldt County 40.008403, -123.925176
  • Main Stem Mattole: Located in Humboldt County approximately .25 miles south of Shelter Cove Rd, accessed by Hungry Gulch Rd a private drive (known as Tranquility Lane).
  • McKee Creek: Located in Humboldt county along south side of Briceland Thorn Rd, accessed from the intersection of Briceland Thorn Rd and Shelter Cove Rd (referred to as Thorn Junction) and continuing upstream at various points accessed form the county road for approximately 1.5 miles northeast 40.070064, -123.958067
  • Anderson Creek: Located in Humboldt County, California (Property) 40.031898, -123.964455
