Organization Description

ALL Cal Poly Humboldt programs and academic departments hosting students for Service Learning and Academic Internship courses must provide a paid Cal Poly Humboldt staff or faculty as Site Supervisor. Program Information

In order for students to report placements with any Cal Poly Humboldt Club for Service Learning or Academic Internship (SL/AI) course credit the following is necessary:

  1. The faculty teaching the SL/AI course must approve the planned club activities for the course service requirement.
  2. The club faculty or staff advisor needs to approve the service placement and be available for guidance and mentoring during the SL/AI experience.
  3. Activities should ideally meet the standards for SL/AI best practices:  I.e., providing activities and guidance on learning assignments that connect with the SL/AI curriculum; making career and professional field connections; building skills that enhance leadership, educational and professional goals, etc.
