Organization Description

The San Joaquin County Office of Education is a regional agency that provides educational leadership, resources, and customized services to assist school districts. The SJCOE promotes student achievement and accountability, serves San Joaquin County’s most vulnerable students, and strives to create an environment in which every student, regardless of circumstances, has an opportunity for a quality education.

Program Information

Comprehensive Health fosters student health, well-being, and resiliency by providing programs that support learning, such as after-school and other expanded learning programs, nutrition and garden grants, health education, tobacco-use prevention and substance abuse prevention programs, suicide prevention, oral health services, and school nursing. It is also a goal to build the capacity of local-, regional-, and state-level educators through renowned professional development and technical assistance. Comprehensive Health works with the community and statewide partners to provide optimal services for students and families. The department also provides LEA Medi-Cal billing services through SEIS Billing and compliance support to assist districts and county offices of education in maximizing federal reimbursement.
