Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

At the conclusion of this opportunity, students will become advanced in the use of BlueBeam and ProCore and using the previously mentioned software's to create submittal packages and updating/marking-up product data. Students will also have the skill to produce purchase requisitions, communicate with vendors on "follow-up's" for shipped materials, and will be able to produce a cost comparison sheet to an accounting team indicating to them, the lowest vendor price with the shortest lead time. More importantly, students will learn the importance of time management and organization as it pertains to administrative side of construction management.

Opportunity Training 

In accounting related matters, the Assistant Project Manager and the Director of the Purchasing Department will train students in how to produce cost comparison sheets, creating purchase requisitions, and how to follow up with vendors on materials. In regards to progress mark ups and creating submittal packages for awarded projects, the Project Executive and Assistant Project Manager will help train students on those areas.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

In the office, we make sure there is no clutter in the hallways to prevent tripping hazards. We also will not let students enter the warehouse without supervision of either the Project Engineer or Assistant Project Manager. Students are also encouraged to take their 15 minute breaks and lunch to ensure they receive the rest they need from sitting in front of a computer for long duration.
