City of Fremont
The City of Fremont's Human Services Department (HSD) was established in 1978 and has grown to over 70 employees with an operating budget of 16 million dollars, including the City's Community Development Block Grant Program and over a half a million dollars in public service grants to local human service non-profits. Over the HSD’s almost 40 years of providing core services to the community, several divisions of Human Services Department have been established to meet the department's goals. HSD divisions currently include: *Fremont Family Resource Center (FRC) *Youth and Family Counseling Services Division (YFS) *Grant Management Program *Paratransit Transportation *Aging and Family Services Division (AFS) The Human Services Department's mission is to work to support a vibrant community through the creation and maintenance of services that empower individuals, strengthen families, encourage self-sufficiency, enhance neighborhoods and foster a high quality of life for all residents. HSD serves residents of all ages with a focus on youth, families, and the elderly.
