Organization Description

MPUSD is the largest school district on the peninsula serving children K-12.

All students must complete fingerprinting, TB tests and district orientation through Human Resources before starting the placement.

Program Information

Student support services provides various levels of social and emotional support, depending on need, to students and families in the educational environment so that students can become both academically and socially successful.

CHHS interns will assist in reducing chronic absenteeism. Family outreach, connecting families with resources, assisting Principal and staff with data collection snd analyzing barriers to attendance.

 

support Family Service Specialists to help meet the various needs of our students and families. CHHS Intern will assist families and students with accessing community services, providing referrals, and case management

Interprofessional opportunities include ongoing collaboration with various school site staff, parents, administrators and community stakeholders.

Desired intern characteristics: Interested in the educational environment and able to work with both students and families regarding accessing services within the community. Willingness to provide some public speaking (i.e. classroom/staff presentations, parent presentations, etc.)

Health & Safety

Here is the updated process for interns.  The contact for HR is 645-1278.

  • Completed Volunteer form (application with field staff)
  • Valid TB test Clearance
  • Fingerprint Clearance from DOJ (application with field staff)
  • A letter from your professor/program coordinator verifying the program you are participating in, where you are being placed and for how long.

Workers compensation is not provided.
