Lutheran Social Services

Organization Description

For nearly 70 years, Lutheran Social Services has been standing in the gap for kids and their families, as well as hurting men and women.

Throughout Southern Californa we have reached out to care for the poor, the underserved, and the powerless, regardless of race, creed or orientation.

This year, the Missouri Synod chapel offerings from all their schools in Southern California will be directed towards Lutheran Social Services.

This is the start of a deliberate strategy to connect Lutherean schools at all levels with community engagement provided by LSS.

Program Information

Located in the city of Fullerton, LSS Orange County, serves more than 200 families and individuals per month with emergency and social services. When possible, clients are paired with a caseworker to address the more systemic and prevailing needs of the individual. We also partner with local churches, to support families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and facilitate local collections for Lutheran World Relief Quilt distribution.

Mission

Ignited by faith, we live out God’s love by embracing, equipping and empowering vulnerable people in Southern California.

Vision

Sharing the love of Christ, we are a community to care and be cared for…where the vulnerable are safer and stronger; where the dependent are self-sustaining; where the isolated dwell in community; where the weary will be given hope.
