Organization Description

The County of Marin Probation Department offers an array of mandated and optional services for the Court, adult and youthful offenders, victims of crime, and the diverse communities of Marin. Our Department prides itself on offering a balance between public safety, offender accountability, rehabilitative services and restorative practices. Through our support of proven and cost effective practices and programs, we remain committed to a process of continual improvement of services in partnership with the communities we serve.

Program Information

• Organizing documents • Review Cases • Assist in the preparation of presentence reports. • Project/Investigative Work • Court Exposure: Interns will accompany a presentence investigator and/or a supervision officer to court to observe the court process, meet judges, attorneys, and case agents. • Data Entry • Work closely with Deputy Probation Officers

  • Background Check (e.g. fingerprinting/livescan, driving record)
  • Computer Literacy
  • Must be 18 or older
  • SITE REQUIREMENT: Students are not allowed to take pictures or video.
  • SITE REQUIREMENT: Students will be asked to sign a confidentiality waiver.
