Turning Point Foundation - Growing Works

Organization Description

Turning Point Foundation is a local non-profit deeply committed to building a healthier community by offering compassionate and proactive services for adults struggling with mental illness, many of whom have experienced homelessness and/or are veterans. Today, Turning Point has 14 programs across 11 locations throughout Ventura County. We have housing, mental wellness, and supported employment programs. The Growing Works location is an innovative, wholesale plant nursery and mental wellness program that provides job training, employment, volunteer opportunities, recovery services, and horticultural therapy to its members.

Growing Works is an innovative mental health recovery program AND a wholesale nursery growing California Native, succulent and other plants. In our four years of existence, we've graduated 4 employees to other employment with Turning Point Foundation -- our parent organization. Thirty have achieved competitive employment and 10 are pursuing higher education. We have a solid reputation for high-quality plants and customer service to our customers from LA to Solvang.
