Opportunity Summary 

This internship is for Public Administration & Nonprofit Management Concentration students. Interns will develop administrative skills such as event management, professional communication, project management, teamwork, grant writing, data management, and reporting. CHHS field placement interns work with iiED staff and interns from other departments on a variety of projects and events. Past CHHS field placement interns have developed skills in event management (from setting up and managing ticketing process to planning food and registration process), preparing videos for social media posts; interviewing participants and writing success stories; developing marketing strategies to increase participation from disadvantaged communities; developing a new Club and increasing participation across the campus, developing surveys, updating database and analyzing data.

 Opportunity Summary 

Interns at the Institute for Innovation & Economic Development (iiED) support the Program staff in implementing the programs, events, and projects to develop and launch successful businesses and nonprofits. An important focus for iiED is to increase the proportion of entrepreneurs, advisors, and investors who are women and people of color in our region.

Tasks include administrative work related to event planning and logistics, project management, social media, and email marketing, editing newsletters, and research.  

Opportunity Activities 

CHHS field placement interns work with iiED staff and other interns on a variety of projects and events and develop skills using a number of tools including, Asana (project management), Slack (Communications), Hubspot (CRM marketing),  Neoserra (CRM for reporting), Eventbrite (Event Management) as well as the Google Suite. CHHS interns can also develop skills such as grantwriting, editing images and videos for social media posts; interviewing participants and writing success stories; developing marketing strategies to increase participation from disadvantaged communities, and updating and analyzing data. Opportunity Learning Outcomes
