Program Information

'Provides services to children of Butte County who have been, or are at risk of becoming victims of abuse, neglect or exploitation.'

Interns will be trained on agency protocol, and will be assigned to Social Workers to shadow.  Interns will be exposed to as many different types of caseloads, including investigations, reunification/maintenance, adoptions, long-term foster care, and guardianship.  Interns will also be exposed to many different types of cases, including neglect, sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, parent incapacity, and abandonment.  Interns will also be exposed to many different underlying factors of abuse, including substance abuse, domestic violence, poverty, criminal activity, and developmental delays.  Some interns will conduct their own investigations, some will carry their own cases.  Most interns will write court reports and case (treatment) plan.  Interns will also conduct supervised visitations (including jail visits) as well as visit children in foster homes and meet with parents on a regular basis to discuss services.  Interns will also be included in collaborative team meetings, unit meetings (to discuss agency issues), and program meetings (to discuss agency changes).  If available, interns will also attend court, child abuse MDT interviews, and various trainings.
