Program Information Catalyst's programs and services for victims of intimate partner violence and their families include housing programs, legal advocacy, education and outreach, counseling, a 24-hotline, drop-in crisis intervention, safety planning, and law enforcement advocacy. Catalyst is supported in all of these programs through a volunteer and intern program.
All staff and interns are trained to become Domestic Violence Crisis Counselors. Among specific duties, such as individual advocacy in our housing programs, legal advocacy and court accompaniment, child advocacy, and education and outreach, interns are expected to answer crisis-calls, conduct assessments, and assist participants with a variety of needs. Concentration Year MSW interns also have the opportunity to provide clinical counseling services for participants, as well as opportunities to practice community/macro level social work more in depth.
Catalyst's values include Understanding the Diversity of the Human Experience which guide our work in providing identity affirming services for all people, including those who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ communities, people who have mental health or substance abuse concerns and people of all cultures. We use a trauma-informed service delivery model that keeps the safety of participants at the center of interventions and supportive services.
