YMCA of the East Bay
Founded in Berkeley in 1903 and deeply rooted in the communities we serve, the YMCA is one of the most established human services organizations in the East Bay. We’re a cause-driven nonprofit that ensures people have what they need to get and stay healthy. For more than 100 years, we’ve been bringing families, neighbors, and friends together in a motivated and fun environment to learn, play and grow. The YMCA of the East Bay is composed of health and wellness centers, 30+ child care sites (including Early Head Start and Head Start), and a teen center advancing academic achievement, career preparation, service learning and leadership development for youth in the community. Every year, we serve more than 50,000 people from a diverse range of ages, abilities and backgrounds. The Early Childhood Impact branch serves approximately 1200 low income children birth to 5 and their families in 23 centers in four counties (Alameda, Contra Costa, Yolo and Sacramento) in state and federally subsidized programs.
