Hot Springs National Park is committed to safety and has a safety committee that meets monthly to address any potentially unsafe conditions and works toward seeing any issues that may become unsafe in the future. Site staff have daily check-ins and encourages taking time to recharge batteries through hiking during work hours and covering for each other if a break is needed after a stressful interaction. A stress management training will soon be offered on a semi-annual basis so that the interpretation team can recognize when the stress is beginning to affect them or their coworkers and what steps are often effective in lessening that stress. At this time, face coverings will be required for Conservation Legacy interns/members when social distancing is not possible, even if site staff are not currently required to wear them. If at any time interns/ members are feeling unsafe, harassed, or threatened - please inform Conservation Legacy staff immediately.
