Opportunity/Position Title Garden Instructor

Position Summary/Description (please incl. days/hours)

The Garden Instructor position is a year- round, part- time position averaging 20 hours/ week with some scheduling flexibility. The Garden Instructor's duties will include both physically maintaining the garden and providing programming to children ages K-8. The physical maintenance of the garden will be guided by a 'calendar of care' that will be provided to the student, but may include trimming and pruning, weeding, turning compost, preparing raised beds for planting, watering, etc. Programming will also be guided, but the Garden Instructor will be responsible for some lesson planning and preparation on their own, and getting creative with garden activities is encouraged. The Garden Instructor will have groups of children ages K-8 rotating through the garden on a daily basis. We are looking for someone to start in May by shadowing the current Garden Instructor, then transition fully into the position starting in July.
