Opportunity Summary

An Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development (ASCD) report in 2020 states, “Schools are experiencing ‘an intensification’ of racial and ethnic disputes between students,” (Joan First, Executive Director, National Coalition of Advocates for Students). The article continues stating, “schools aren’t very well prepared...” According to the most recent 2020 publication in the Pew Report, 6-in-10 Americans (58%) say race relations in the U.S. are bad, and few see them improving. PARTI is helping to address the racial and ethnic disputes among school-aged youth. Through our program, the lives of thousands of students of color are given the tools to address safety, equity, in an anti-violence way, helping to build conflict-free environments. By creating service projects that address diversity, inclusion for safer school climates and participation in anti-racial civic engagement, the PARTI Program is creating opportunities for the leaders of tomorrow. Every day we work to transform the lives of youth who suffer emotionally and mentally from bullying, depression, violent lifestyles, unhealthy relationships, and unstable families. With a focus on youth development, connection to caring adults, and service opportunities, the PARTI Program is addressing equality and creating opportunities for leadership among African American and Latino youth. PARTI supports thousands of students of color with a strong and proven youth development program that is deeply rooted in emotional health, equity, and anti-violence. This approach helps build conflict-free environments addressing diversity and inclusion, safer school climates, and participation in racial justice and civic engagement. PARTI contributes to a fair, equitable, and anti-racist America that is collaborating with local community leaders and connecting them to incredible youth that will change the future of our communities and country. We found with our programming and impact data that youth respond positively based on their need to: * Feel like they are connected to caring adults * Feel like their voice is being heard * Feel like they are prepared to deal with conflict and challenging situations in their life * Feel like they are connected to opportunities to help them thrive after high school.
