Recreation Therapy InternshipAt — City of San Ramon Parks & Community Services Department

Opportunity Summary 

The San Ramon Parks and Community Services Department is certified through the California Board of Recreation and Park Certification, Inc. and the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification as a site qualified to accept Recreational Therapy Interns who are prepared to complete 600 hours of internship work. Students have the opportunity to work with a variety of populations in the community recreation setting.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

By the end of the internship students will have acquired the knowledge and skills necessary to complete their education in Recreation Therapy and be eligible to sit for the State and National Certification tests.

Opportunity Training 

Ongoing one on one training provided per identified event. Minimum 20 minutes per event. San Ramon Parks and Community Services also has books, handouts, and videos readily available for use by the student to assist in training.

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Safety training will be provided as part of the onboarding process. There is nothing about the site itself that requires additional safety information.
