Opportunity Summary 

Under supervision of a CTRS, the rehabilitation therapist intern provides comprehensive rehabilitative services to in-patient clientele experiencing complex behavioral health issues and psychiatric stabilization. The intern will assist with implementing daily structured programming; to include groups and individual sessions of a client centered approach, which are provided 7 days a week.

By end of this opportunity students will have learned how to provide the daily program structure of a rehabilitation department to include: assessment, evaluate functioning, treatment planning, planning/facilitating groups and individual sessions, implementing interventions, clinical documentation, community outreach, supplies and budgeting, developing therapeutic rapport, special event/theme events, maintaining professional boundaries and risk management,

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

Significant safety precautions of locked in-patient psychiatric facility to include seclusion, physical holds and restraint in some circumstances. Intern will not be "hands-on" in these circumstances however may witness or experience events considered traumatic by nature.
