Connect and protect the Aging CommunityAt — Diablo Valley Foundation for the Aging
The aging community is growing at an exponential rate and, as such, services and jobs for those experienced with seniors will be (and already are) in high demand. An internship with DVFA will give selected students an incredible opportunity to build both direct skills in working in the aging community, but also the incredibly critical soft-skills of working with this segment of the population.
Students build skills in communication, empathy, and conversation. In addition, students will gain deep understanding of the challenges facing one of our most vulnerable populations and skills to help fight elder abuse and discrimination.
Training on how to engage with seniors; best practices for interacing and working with seniors; training in dementia and working with folks living with dementia.
Students must be vaccinated and have a TB test.
