Organization Description

The Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council mission statement: The Santa Monica Mountains Trails Council is a volunteer, nonprofit organization dedicated to establishing and maintaining the public trail system in the Santa Monica Mountains through advocacy and partnership with public and private sectors.

Health & Safety

Students may be required to hike up to two miles on trails rated as "easy" to "moderate" difficulty Students will be required to perform mildly strenuous physical work for up to four hours.

Event dates and times vary. Generally, the SMMTC conducts a volunteer event every Saturday (and an occasional weekday) through the months of September and June. The specific schedule an event information is posted on our Website. We also conduct a few special events throughout the year. Information for these events is posted on the Website or will be disseminated directly to the Trail Corp members by the SMMTC "Main Contact".
