Opportunity Summary 

Through working as a Park Aide at Sonoma County Regional Parks, the student may be tasked with working on a few special projects related to park operations, etc.

Opportunity Learning Outcomes 

The student will have a better grasp of how operations works in the Sonoma County Regional Parks system, and what efforts are needed to continue to help protect the valuable natural resources in our parks, while at the same time providing valuable service to, and educating members of the public.

Opportunity Training 

Training on Coastal District Operations in the Bodega Bay area for Sonoma County Regional Parks. To include Campground Operations, helping Marine Mammal Center Vounteers and Staff with rescues, additional Natural Resource protection items as necessary, and there may also be some Community Engagement Opportunities

Additional risk specific to this opportunity 

The student participating in work experience hours will be trained as the other staff on the Operations Team are in terms of safety hazards, driving, etc.
