Program Information

*CORE Butte will not be taking an intern for the 2023-24 academic year

Interns at CORE Butte can expect to observe many aspects of a school environment.

  • Learning how to communicate with students and staff
  • Have the opportunity to learn how to meet students needs
  • Work with parents on understanding behaviors and challenges their child(ren) are experiencing
  • How to complete a crisis intervention
  • Learn about Butte County resources
  • Learn about social emotional learning
  • Learn how to work with diverse populations and at-risk youth

The ideal intern will be someone who shows initiative and is willing to jump right in. Flexibility and positive mind set are really important. Willingness to ask questions and learn from others. Communication with regard to their concerns, struggles, comfort level and hopes. Must be patient and empathetic to students/family circumstances. Need to be on time and consistent with schedule as much as possible.
